The 4 Results Day Scenarios

Scenario A: Met Firm Offer

UCAS Hub will update to "Unconditional Firm (UF)". You do not need to phone the university. Check your email for accommodation contracts and student union registration information.

Scenario B: Missed Firm, Met Insurance

Insurance Place Automatically Activated

If your Firm university does not accept your grades but your Insurance conditions are met, your insurance choice automatically becomes your confirmed place.

Scenario C: Missed Both Offers

Enter UCAS Clearing

Thousands of excellent degree places are available through Clearing every year. You receive a unique Clearing Number on UCAS Hub and can immediately call university hotlines.

Scenario D: Exceeded Predictions

Explore Clearing for Higher-Tariff Courses

If you attained higher grades than expected (e.g. AAA instead of ABB), you can browse Clearing options while still holding your confirmed Firm place until you choose to switch.
